Five-star OG Jamaree Salyer signed with Georgia. The 6’4, 342-pound offensive lineman is the No. 1 guard in the country, No. 10 player overall, and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia according to the 247Sports Composite.
No. 1 OG Jamaree Salyer signs with Georgia, and the Dawgs continue to put a fence up around the state
The Dawgs get a big commitment in one of the nation’s most elite offensive linemen.

When you see Salyer on tape, you’ll see a very wide-bodied athlete with immense power. A college nutrition program will likely get rid of the baby fat and replace it with added muscle in the weight room. Inside the phone booth that is the interior of an offensive line, he wins the battle with size and an initial punch that is absolutely walloping.
Perhaps the biggest deal here is that Salyer is from Atlanta. Georgia’s elite recruiting under Kirby Smart has started inside the state, and that’s huge. It was a knock against Mark Richt when the Dawgs got rid of him. Georgia now has a top-six player in-state at four different positions in this recruiting class.
And Salyer’s commitment has been basically earmarked for quite a while, too.
Salyer, the nation’s top guard prospect, has been on UGA commitment watch for weeks, and you’d have a hard time finding a national recruiting analyst who doesn’t believe he ends up in Athens.
Recruiting cycles where it becomes inevitable that the best players in the state are going to sign with you should scare opponents. Especially when the state is Georgia.
