Ohio State’s 2018 class is off to such a hilarious start, a commitment from the 43rd-best player in the country would drag down its average. The Buckeyes’ seven commitments average a high four-star rating, the best in the country by a good bit, on the 247Sports Composite.
Top uncommitted recruit Micah Parsons favored to Ohio State after Penn State decommit
The 6’3, 235-pounder says he plans to take his time before committing for real.

That average will slip over time and all, as everyone knows. But — here’s a total hypothetical — if the current No. 3 overall recruit were to join the group soon, it wouldn’t be slipping for a while.
In other news, current No. 3 overall recruit Micah Parsons, a defensive end from Pennsylvania, announced Sunday he’s dropping Penn State. He’s publicly known to have visited Ohio State three times in the last few months, including the weekend prior. The Buckeyes have to now be considered the favorites for his signature.
A commitment soon doesn’t seem likely, though, as he’s said he plans to make his final decision on New Year’s and just wrote on Twitter: “I just feel like I committed too soon and I need to focus on this upcoming football season.”
Also highly interested in him: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and everybody else. Clemson currently has commitments from the only two recruits ranked ahead of Parsons: QB Trevor Lawrence and DE Xavier Thomas.
