2018 inside linebacker Ayodele Adeoye (6’2, 219 pounds) participated in the Under Armour Chicago camp over the weekend. SB Nation’s Bud Elliott was able to speak with the St. Louis (Mo.) Ritenour prospect over the weekend regarding the latest with his recruiting process, including any upcoming visits and offers he expects to come his way.

Adeoye, who said he weighed in at 219 but was measured at 231 pounds two weeks ago at a different camp, said Texas was on his radar.

“Louisville offered me Friday,” Adeoye said. “And a few more schools are supposed to be offering. Texas [is] supposed to be offering soon, and Oregon and UCLA.”

On Wednesday morning, Texas extended an offer to the four-star linebacker. Burnt Orange Nation has more:

Tom Herman and his staff continue to aggressively tap into the Out-of-state market and St. Louis Ridenour inside likebacker Ayodele Adeoye becomes the latest to pick up a Texas Longhorns offer.

Adeoye now becomes the sixth 2018 linebacker to pick up a Texas offer this cycle and the fourth to hail from outside of the state’s lines. Only Alston Orji and Longhorn pledge Byron Hobbs are actually from Texas.

As far as upcoming visits go, Adeoye, who is rated as the No. 5 inside linebacker by the 247Sports Composite, says he wants to visit Oklahoma soon, and he’d like to go back to LSU, from whom he has an offer. Adeoye says his visit to Texas will likely be in the summer.

“OU is gonna be [a] separate [visit]. Texas is going to be in the summertime because I have family in Texas.”

Adeoye, who is from St. Louis, Mo., has family in Dallas, Arlington, and Houston. When asked which schools close to home he’s interested the most, he says Illinois and Missouri.

“Great head coach, great position coach,” Adeoye said regarding Illinois. “Them guys will win football games.”

The linebacker adds that he plans on early enrolling wherever he ends up, and he’s focused on getting the ACT score he needs in the coming months.
