Florida Atlantic head coach Lane Kiffin is teaming up with one of his former employers for a satellite camp this summer. On Friday, ESPN’s Adam RIttenberg reported that FAU will host a satellite camp next month, which will feature big-name programs such as Tennessee and Michigan. Other SEC programs are set to be in attendance, too.

Coaches from five Power 5 programs -- Tennessee, Michigan, Arkansas, Illinois and Vanderbilt -- will work at Florida Atlantic’s camp June 5 in Boca Raton, Florida. Harbaugh and Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema will be there with their staffs, and other head coaches like Illinois’ Lovie Smith could join.
Ah yes, this should go over well for Tennessee fans, who Kiffin has trolled endlessly seemingly ever since he left Knoxville after UT’s 2009 season for the vacant USC job. A brief history of him messing with Vol fans includes: When he wore an orange tie to the 2015 Alabama-Tennessee game, throwing his visor to a Vol fan after the Tide steamrolled Tennessee in 2016, and just generally letting his presence in Tennessee be known when he was on the road recruiting the state.
And for Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, hopefully him being able to attend a camp scouting the talent-rich South Florida area will ease his recent frustration with satellite camps. Last week, after Michigan was replaced at a Tulane satellite camp with LSU, the Wolverines head coach said that the camp disinvite was a strategy by “football factories” to keep competing programs out.
We’ll see if any other programs hop aboard this upcoming camp. Given the talent that’s near Boca Raton, Fla., it wouldn’t be surprising to see more big schools join.
