Four-star quarterback and NC State commit Devin Leary isn’t the most imposing signal caller at The Opening Finals this weekend. Standing at 6’1.5, 189 pounds, there are some other quarterbacks in Oregon that have more of a size advantage. But don’t let his size fool you when it comes to his arm strength — Leary has plenty of that.
NC State QB commit Devin Leary isn’t big, but his arm is
The four-star has been turning some heads with his arm strength.

“Just as a quarterback, I’m just a true winner. I’m a guy that loves to compete, and just building my team up with me, [I’m] just really a selfless guy, and I just love to compete,” Leary told SB Nation in an interview at the Elite 11 Finals in June.
“The way the ball comes off my hand. its not like many others as I’m told. My accuracy is a big part — putting the ball where it needs to be at the right time.”
He also said that he models his game off of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
Leary, who committed to NC State in April, had a successful Elite 11 Finals earlier this month. During his Pro Day workout, he scored a 44, which was the best out of any quarterback that day.
Our Bud Elliott had this to say about Leary’s session.
Here is the workout of Devin Leary, who had the top pro day score according to the Elite 11 staff. Some of the incompletions were graded as being the fault of the receiver, either via a bad route or a drop (you’ll see they did him no favors).
NC State fans should certainly feel comfortable having the Timber Creek (New Jersey) prospect on-campus at quarterback next fall.
