Five-star 2018 QB Matt Corral, of Long Beach Poly in California, is expected to head east for college. All the way east. The SEC East.
Meet Matt Corral, the 5-star Cali gunslinger SEC rivals are battling over
Georgia, Florida, and Alabama are considered the leaders for the West Coast QB.

The West Coast product, who has a knack for making high-risk throws in the face of pressure, visited Georgia in April, and is planning to return in July. He also plans to check out Florida, Alabama, and Miami between July 13 and August 4.
He showed some accuracy during the seven-on-seven portion of The Opening finals at Nike headquarters in Oregon.
Corral recently decommitted from nearby USC.
Most industry experts believe Georgia has the leg up. At The Opening Finals national camp in Oregon, the strong-armed QB was wearing a Georgia wristband, which he said he received from UGA starting QB Jacob Eason.
But Florida and Alabama are also pursuing hard.
“I talk to Florida every day,” Corral told SB Nation.
He has spoken of the potential to start early at Florida and has revealed that Florida offered him, but asked him to keep it quiet.
Corral is well aware Florida is also chasing fellow five-star quarterback Justin Fields. Have the Gators officially offered Corral, as no tender has been reported to date?
“Yeah, but the reason I haven’t said anything or posted it is because they told me not to, so I didn’t. It was pretty straight up.”
Corral said Florida’s request did not bother him, and that he forgot the reason why the coaches told him that.
“I’m not big on the attention, so I don’t really care, it didn’t bother me,” adding that he does not think it was because of Florida’s pursuit of fellow five-star QB Justin Fields.
From the Elite 11 Finals in June, a quick note by Bud Elliott:
Corral has a big arm, but he has to dial in the right amount of touch, arc, and speed for each throw. I didn’t think Corral was great in the early part of the camp, but he responded late when challenged in some final drills.
Like Fields, Corral wants to make his commitment before his senior season begins.
