Brandon Moore injury: Texas DT carted off with stabilized neck after big hit

Texas defensive tackle Brandon Moore suffered a brutal hit late in the Red River Rivalry and had to be carted off.

Texas Longhorns defensive tackle Brandon Moore was carted off the Cotton Bowl field after taking an apparent knee to the head while rushing Landry Jones. He was down on the turf for several minutes as trainers loaded him onto a cart, removed his face mask and stabilized his head and neck with a brace.

The good news: Holly Rowe reported he’s able to move his extremities. His arms were strapped down as a safety precaution, however. Rowe said Moore was trying to find somewhere to put his mouth piece, as he’s used to leaving it in his face mask.

Moore is a junior who transferred to Austin from East Mississippi Community College. He’s played in four games so far, ranking fifth on the team in tackles for loss.
