The Kansas St. Wildcats escaped Iowa with a win over the Iowa St. Cyclones on Saturday, 27-21.

The sixth-ranked Wildcats rode the back of their Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Collin Klein as he picked up three rushing touchdowns for his seventh career three-touchdown game. Klein leads all active quarterbacks in games with at least three rushing touchdowns and only trails Wisconsin's Montee Ball among all active players.

Iowa St.'s Jeff Woody scored his first touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter to cut the Wildcats lead to three. Kansas St. kicked a field goal with 4:24 remaining to provide the Wildcats with their final six point lead.

Iowa St. quarterback Jared Barnett finished with 166 yards on 16 of 36 passing with two touchdowns and an interception. The Wildcats improved to 6-0 overall, 3-0 in the Big 12 and the Cyclones fell to 4-2 overall, 1-2 in the Big 12.

Box Score Hero: Klein showed why he is a Heisman Trophy candidate as he accumulated 292 total yards (105 yards rushing) and rushed for three touchdowns.

Rankings Ramifications: The Cyclones gave the Wildcats all they could handle but the Wildcats spot in the rankings shouldn’t take a hit and depending on what happens above them, they could move up.

But Did They Cover?: Kansas St. did not cover their opening line as 7.5 point-favorites but the later lines they did cover - barely.
