Michigan Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson will go down as one of the greatest players in school history, but there's still something missing from his resumé: he's never defeated the Michigan State Spartans. The Wolverines (4-2, 2-0), in fact, haven't defeated the Spartans (4-3, 1-2) since 2007.

In last year’s game, the Michigan State defense dominated Michigan’s prolific offense. Robinson ran for just 42 yards on 18 carries – one of his lowest totals since he took over the starting job. He also threw for just 123 yards on 9-of-24 passing. Michigan State’s offense was far more efficient, but this year’s iteration has had trouble putting up points against quality competition so far this season.
Saturday’s game is likely to be a defensive battle. Both teams are ranked in the Top 25 in the nation in total defense, while both offenses are outside of the Top 50. But in rivalry games, ugly wins are still wins, and it’s hard to imagine that Robinson would be dissatisfied with a low-scoring victory.
Game time, TV channel: 3:30 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network
Point spread: Michigan favored by 10 points
