Oklahoma State (3-2, 1-1 Big 12) has been an offensive juggernaut this season, ranking third in the nation in scoring with 48.6 points per game, seventh in the nation in passing yards with 338.2 yards per game and ninth in the nation in rushing with 263.2 yards per game. Their vaunted offense was held in check last week in a 20-14 win over the Kansas Jayhawks, and held running back Joseph Randle to 80 yards on 29 carrries. The Cowboys will have their work cut out for them against a very tough Iowa State defense.
The No. 24 Cyclones (4-2, 1-2 Big 12) are coming off a 27-21 loss to the No. 6 Kansas State Wildcats last week. Their defense, led by linebackers Jake Knott and A.J. Klein, has been stellar thus far, surrendering just 17.7 yards per game, a mark that is good for 24th in the nation. Iowa State's rushing attack has been the worst in the Big 12 this season, and head coach Paul Rhoads is hoping running back Shontrelle Johnson can break out against a Cowboys defense that has a tendency to be porous.
