South Carolina's offense should see more of a contribution from tailback Marcus Lattimore. After averaging 91.5 yards per game in the first six games, he gained only 35 yards against LSU and 13 against Florida. He bruised his hip in the LSU loss, but the junior is expected to return to form against the Vols. Starting quarterback Connor Shaw was pulled halfway through the game against Florida, but head coach Steve Spurrier says that he'll remain in for the entire game against Tennessee. As he told the Associated Press:
“I told him the other day, ‘You are not coming out unless you get hurt,’” Spurrier said. “If he skunks it up through the first half, he’s going to skunk it up the whole second half. This is his game.”
Tennessee is in its fourth of four games against ranked opponents. They lost on the road to the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 19 Mississippi State Bulldogs as well as at home against the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide. Junior quarterback Tyler Bray has thrown for 1,914 yards this season, with 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
