Marcus Lattimore injury: Reaction from around the web

Marcus Lattimore’s knee injury triggered a variety of responses, from sadness about the injury to pride at the sight of both teams huddling around him.

Jeff Blake-US PRESSWIRE

We don’t yet know the extent of Marcus Lattimore’s injury, but it looked severe -- gruesome, in fact. Lattimore took a helmet straight to the knee in a high-low situation at the end of a run, immediately grabbing his right knee in pain. He didn’t get up, and could be seen writhing in pain as trainers rushed to his side.

The injury itself was heartbreaking, but this ... this was kind of amazing.

And so reaction varied -- from sadness over seeing the young man go down to tears at the sight of both teams joining him on the field. It’s hard to imagine many players having the impact Lattimore -- who, by all accounts, is a great young man -- has on his own team and others.

Taking a quick lap, here’s a sample of the reaction from former teammates, rival coaches and others on Twitter.

More on the injury as we get it.
