Temple vs. Pittsburgh 2012 results: Panthers cruise 47-17 win

Pitt running back Ray Graham rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns, as the Pittsburgh Panthers cruised to a 47-17 win over the Temple Owls.

The Pittsburgh Panthers (4-4, 1-3) notched their first Big East win of the season, blowing out the Temple Owls (3-4, 2-2) on Saturday, 47-17.

Pitt jumped out to an early 14-0 lead, but Temple cut the lead down to 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. From there, it was all Panthers, as Pitt scored three unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter.

Ray Graham starred for Pitt in the second quarter, rushing for a one-yard touchdown, while also hauling in a four-yard touchdown reception with just seven seconds left in the first half, giving Pitt a commanding 31-7 halftime lead.

Temple cut Pitt's lead down to 34-17 in the third quarter, but Pitt put the game away late in the fourth. Graham added his second rushing touchdown, before quarterback Tino Sunseri hooked up with Devin Street on a 58-yard touchdown pass, making the score 47-17.

The Panthers dominated the entire game, outgaining the Owls from the line of scrimmage, 528-324. Pitt didn’t commit a turnover either, while Temple gave the ball over twice.

Sunseri finished the game 20-of-28 passing, for 321 yards and three touchdowns. Pitt also ran all over Temple, accumulating 207 rushing yards.

Rankings Ramifications: Neither team will be a factor in next week’s rankings.

But Did They Cover? Pitt entered the game as 6.5 point favorites, and covered with ease.
