Marqise Lee stats: USC WR putting up video game numbers

USC doesn't lack for offensive weapons. While Matt Barkley entered the season as the Heisman Trophy candidate and the addition of running back Silas Redd from Penn State dominated the preseason headlines, the star of the offense is quickly becoming wide receiver Marqise Lee. Lee entered today's game with Arizona with 60 receptions, good enough for 3rd nationally in receptions per game. His performance against Arizona will surely move him up those rankings.

In just a little over a half of football, Lee already has 13 receptions for 299 yards. After trailing 10-0 and turning the ball over multiple times against Arizona, the Trojans have come back and now lead 28-13. Lee himself hauled in a 49 yard touchdown reception that put the Trojans ahead 14-10 in the second quarter. Early in the third he added a 44-yard touchdown. If Lee keeps this up, Ted Miller of ESPN points out that he’ll quickly be approaching record-breaking territory for wide receiver production in a single game.
