For the second year in a row, the UCLA Bruins and Arizona State Sun Devils came down to a final field goal.

Last year it was ASU missing late to lose the game, while this year it was Ka'imi Fairbairn sealing it for UCLA in the final seconds. With the 45-43 win, UCLA becomes bowl eligible in October for the first time since 2005. Down 14-0 in the first quarter, UCLA came back to go up 21-17 at halftime and managed to hold on through a back-and-forth second half.

All told, the game featured four lead changes and more than 1,000 yards of offense. ASU had 535 total yards, with Taylor Kelly completing 25-of-35 passes for 315 yards. Brett Hundley wasn't far behind, with 274 yards on 19-of-31 attempts. Both teams had four passing touchdowns and one interception. Damien Thigpen was the big receiver for UCLA, with 92 yards on three catches including two touchdowns, while D.J. Foster had seven catches for 107 for ASU.

ASU's defense managed to sack Hundley seven times, with Carl Bradford picking up three of them and Junior Onyeali adding two. Hundley managed to execute in spite of the pressure, including key passes that put UCLA in field goal range on the final drive. UCLA's defense didn't manage much in the way of backfield pressure, but Datone Jones and the rest of the front seven came through with some stops at key moments.

Box Score Hero: As has frequently been the case with UCLA, Johnathan Franklin carried the day. He had 164 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns, and was crucial in grinding out yards in the fourth quarter and on the final drive.

Rankings Ramifications: UCLA fell out of the rankings early in the season and is unlikely to climb back in at this point.

But Did They Cover? At +7, UCLA clearly covered the spread.

Next Week's Schedule: The Bruins next host the Arizona Wildcats, while the Sun Devils will head on the road to take on the Oregon St. Beavers.
