Alabama and Oregon remain in line for the national title game in Week 10’s bowl projections update, as the Ducks have the chance to finish the season with wins against more ranked opponents than Kansas State does. That’s not exactly how the BCS works, but as a quick look at how strength of schedule could eventually shake out, it’s how I’m operating at the moment.

K-State remains one of the country’s most deserving teams, and under a playoff format would get its fair chance. An unbeaten Notre Dame would unquestionably likewise warrant a shot, but due to how the postseason works for the time being, will likely be the first automatic qualifier to get a BCS shot. Thus, the Fiesta would be lucky to get to pair the two.
The Sugar gets next pick, and with Georgia now in line to play Alabama in the SEC title game, a UGA-Louisville matchup seems like the call. The Orange goes last, and Boise State becomes the first one-loss team from a non-AQ conference to play in a BCS bowl.
