FSU vs. N.C. State: Zach Allen done, offensive line wracked with injury

The three-year starter was being counted on to be one of the anchors of the Wolfpack offensive line in 2012.

Sam Sharpe-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The N.C. State Wolfpack will not have their full complement of offensive linemen when they host the No. 3 Florida State Seminoles this weekend:

Allen, a 6’3”, 330-pound guard, is a three-year starter who was expected to help anchor the Wolfpack offensive line in 2012. He injured his lower leg in the Wolfpack’s 44-37 loss to Miami last week, an injury that will now keep him off the field for the rest of the season.

He was being looked at as a prospect for the 2013 NFL Draft prior to the injury, but for now it’s unclear whether Allen will pursue a medical redshirt or hope he has enough time to rehabilitate before the pre-draft season.

He was replaced in the starting lineup by sophomore guard Cameron Fordham, which only makes the challenge they have in front of them on Saturday greater.
