Tommy Rees to reportedly start at QB for Notre Dame

According to a report from NBC, Tommy Rees will start at quarterback over Everett Golson when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night at Soldier Field.

The Notre Dame quarterback controversy could take a turn as the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish prepare to take on the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night at Soldier Field in Chicago. According to Keith Arnold of NBC, Tommy Rees will be getting the nod over Everett Golson:

Golson has seen the majority of reps at quarterback this season for the Fighting Irish, who have started 4-0. On the season, he’s thrown for 641 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

However, this reported change may be due to how the quarterbacks performed in Notre Dame’s win over Michigan on Sept. 22. Golson struggled mightily, throwing for 30 yards and two picks before Rees was called to duty. Rees performed much better, going 8-of-11 for 115 yards and not turning the ball over.

There’s still several hours before Notre Dame and Miami will kick off, so let the speculation begin.
