Stanford-Notre Dame named College GameDay site for Week 7

When you win, you become popular. When you’re undefeated in Week 7, you’re attracting attention everywhere. Notre Dame will play big man on campus this week when it hosts ESPN’s College GameDay Crew for the Irish’s bout against the Stanford Cardinal.

After its dominating 41-3 victory over Miami, No. 9 Notre Dame remains undefeated. Good things happen when you win, like getting a very popular visitor to your campus. ESPN's College GameDay announced that its Week 7 site will be the campus of Notre Dame, as the Irish take on the 4-1 Stanford Cardinal in the marquee game.

The last time GameDay visited South Bend was 2005, for the famed “Bush Push” game against No. 1 USC. It’s the 20th overall appearance for the Irish on the popular pregame show, but only the second since 2006. However, it’s the fifth appearance in the last three years for Stanford.

This is the eighth pilgrimage to Touchdown Jesus for the GameDay crew, more than all but seven other schools. In GameDay’s history, the Irish have made a total of 20 appearances. Their record being a part of the festivities, home or away, is 9-11. When hosting the show, Notre Dame is 4-3.
