Miami Hurricanes linebacker Denzel Perryman and safety Deon Bush have both left the Hurricanes' Thursday night game against the Virginia Tech Hokies with apparent injuries and will not return.
Denzel Perryman, Deon Bush injuries: Miami defenders knocked out of game
Bush, who was penalized on a helmet-to-helmet hit during the game, will not return with what the team is reporting as a shoulder injury. Bush was earlier classified as having an "upper extremity" injury.
Perryman, who was probable to play in Thursday night's game leading up to the ACC showdown, slipped on Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas's 73-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Perryman was unable to take the quarterback down and Thomas went untouched on his extended rush to the end zone.
Perryman saw limited action in Thursday night's game before Thomas's run.
With the third quarter coming to a close, the Hurricanes are leading the Hokies, 20-12, on the strength of two touchdown passes by quarterback Stephen Morris and strong field position that set up Miami for two scores in the first half.
