Arkansas vs. South Carolina final score: Gamecocks coast past Razorbacks, 38-20

The Gamecocks used a balanced effort to run past the Razorbacks, 38-20 at home.

The South Carolina Gamecocks were expected to take care of the Arkansas Razorbacks at home, and that's exactly what they did on Saturday, winning by a score of 38-20. It appeared that Arkansas would be competitive early on, but 17 straight points by South Carolina to bookend halftime put the game out of reach.

Connor Shaw went 14-22 for 272 yards, two touchdowns and an interception to lead the Gamecocks, and also chipped in with a touchdown on the ground. Bruce Ellington finished with 104 yards and a touchdown receiving, Mike Davis lead the team with 53 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Cobi Hamilton finished with 71 yards on four receptions for Arkansas, breaking the school record for receiving yardage in a single season. Tyler Wilson finished the game 25-41 for 273 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. One of those interceptions was returned for a touchdown by D.J. Swearinger.

Box Score Hero: While Shaw played well for South Carolina, the nod goes to Bruce Ellington and his 104 yards and a touchdown on only five receptions.

Rankings Ramifications: South Carolina entered the game ranked 8th in the BCS standings, so they may rise a spot or two.

But Did They Cover? The Gamecocks were 14 point favorites entering the game, so they safely covered the spread.
