Knile Davis injury update: Arkansas running back will play Mississippi State

A hamstring injury has kept Davis out for two weeks.

Arkansas running back Knile Davis will play Saturday against Mississippi State, according to the Clarion Ledger's Brandon Marcello. Marcello also tweeted that linebacker Terrell Williams is still suspended and will not play Saturday.

Davis has been sidelined for two weeks because of a hamstring injury.

After missing all of 2011, Davis hasn’t been very effective in 2012. The redshirt junior has rushed for 340 yards on 100 carries this season. His best performance came in the Sept. 1 opener, rushing for 70 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

As a sophomore in 2010, Davis rushed for 1,282 yards and 13 touchdowns on 204 carries. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry, which is almost double what he’s doing in 2012 (3.4 yards per carry).

Arkansas is 4-6 (2-4) this season. The Razorbacks started the season 1-4, but have won three of their last five games. The Razorbacks finished their season with games at Mississippi State on Saturday, then hosting No. 7 LSU next Friday.
