The Alabama Crimson Tide have fallen to No. 4 in the rankings following a loss to the Texas A&M Aggies, and the Western Carolina Catamounts are the unlucky team visting a Bama team looking to rebound. The Catamounts are 1-9 and giving up an average of 40 points and 516.5 yards per game.

Unfortunately for the Tide, beating up Western Carolina isn’t likely to impress voters or the BCS computers. Any hope of a national title game appearance rests on some serious mistakes by Oregon, Kansas State or Notre Dame. Alabama won their previous two games against the Catamounts by a combined score of 104-6, including a 2007 52-6 win that was Nick Saban’s first game as Alabama’s head coach.
Despite the loss to the Aggies, Alabama is still likely to face Georgia in the SEC Championship game. To clinch that they need only defeat the 2-8 Auburn Tigers in their final matchup of the regular season. .
