Washington vs. Colorado 2012 results: Huskies clobber Buffaloes

The Colorado Buffaloes proved no match for the Washington Huskies once the Huskies’ offense woke up.

The Washington Huskies easily dispatched of the lowly Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday, 38-3, in their Pac-12 contest in Boulder, Colo.

The Huskies took a while to get going but, once they did, continued to pour it on against an overmatched Buffaloes team.

After only leading 7-0 at the half, the Huskies scored 31 points in the second to make sure there was no memory of their first-half performance.

The lead was made possible mainly by the performance of quarterback of Keith Price, who threw four of his five touchdown passes in the second half. Price finished with 248 yards on 22-for-29 passing.

Playing without injured starter Nick Hirschman, the Buffaloes could manage only 51 yards on 10-of-23 passing by three different quarterbacks. Connor Wood started but only threw for 11 yards on 3-for-6 with two interceptions. The Huskies out-gained the Buffaloes, 476 to 171 total yards.

The win moved the 25th-ranked Huskies to 7-4 overall, 5-3 in the Pac-12 and dropped the Buffaloes to 1-10, 1-7 in conference.

Rankings Ramifications: The Huskies should remain in the rankings.

But Did They Cover?: The Huskies were 21-point favorites and more than covered the spread.

Next Game's Schedule: The Huskies face their in-state rival Washington St. Cougars on Friday in their final game of the regular season. The Buffaloes will end their forgettable season against the Utah Utes on Friday as well.
