For a kicker, Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel is an outstanding quarterback.
Sam Houston State vs. Texas A&M final score: Aggies pound FCS Bearkats, 47-28
Aggies freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns along with 100 rushing yards and two more scores as Texas A&M destroyed visiting Sam Houston State Saturday.

The freshman accounted for five total touchdowns -- three through the air and two on the ground -- but missed an extra point attempt in the third quarter of the Aggies’ 47-28 win over FCS’s Sam Houston State on Saturday in College Station, Texas.
It was pretty much the only thing he didn’t do in the victory.
Manziel connected with senior wide receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu on an 89-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter, but missed his first collegiate extra point attempt wide to the left.
Manziel was pulled in favor of Jameill Showers after his kick, up 40-0.
A game that saw Aggies senior running back Christine Michael ejected for throwing a punch at an SHSU player in the second quarter, it was never close. Manziel rushed for 100 yards on 16 carries, and was 14 for 20 passing with 267 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
Showers picked up where Manziel left off, hitting sophomore receiver LeKendrick Williams on an 89-yard touchdown pass on his first throw of the game.
The Bearkats put up 28 unanswered points in the second half, on touchdown rushes by Tim Flanders, Chris Grett and Ridgeway Frank.
Box Score Hero: Manziel’s 100 yards rushing set a new NCAA freshman quarterback rushing record, breaking the mark set by Missouri’s Brad Smith, who had 1,029 in 2002. He also set a new freshman record for total offense in a season with 4,161. The previous mark was 3,827 set in 2000 by Kentucky’s Jared Lorenzen.
Rankings Ramifications: Texas A&M was ranked No. 9 in the BCS standings and with the win, won’t move down, and could potentially move up with losses by teams inside the top 10.
But Did They Cover? Texas A&M was a 33-point favorite in this game, so they did not cover the spread.
