No. 1 Kansas State received new life after it appeared that Baylor had once again taken control of the game and now trails 35-24 just over two minutes into the third quarter in Waco.
Kansas State vs. Baylor score update: Wildcats pull to within 35-24
The Kansas State offense, struggling for most of the night, failed to gain a yard the drive after Baylor took a commanding 35-17 lead just minutes into the second half. The Wildcats tilted the field, however, when Ryan Doerr’s 49-yard punt was downed at the Baylor 1-yard line.
Baylor quarterback Nick Florence, on second down from his own goal line, then unleashed what is best described as an exceptionally ill-advised pass. Kansas State cornerback Randall Evans intercepted the pass at the goal line before being wrestled out of bounds. Collin Klein’s 1-yard touchdown run just a play later pulling the Wildcats to within two scores once more.
Florence and Klein have both thrown two interceptions in the game, with Kansas State gaining just 221 yards of total offense in the game so far.
