College football rankings, Week 13: AP Top 25 led by Notre Dame, Alabama

After Kansas State and Oregon each dropped their first game of the season, the undefeated Irish staked a claim to the No. 1 spot in the Associated Press Top 25.

For the first time since 1993, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish occupy the top spot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, with the Irish pulling in all 60 of the poll's first-place votes.

That's what losses by the Oregon Ducks and Kansas State Wildcats during a wild Saturday of college football spelled for the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame will look to complete an undefeated season next weekend when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the floundering USC Trojans.

The No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide are right back in the top two after suffering their first loss of the season last weekend, also the beneficiaries of the weekend's chaos.

The Georgia Bulldogs land at No. 3, followed by the bowl-ineligible Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 4. The previously No. 1 Ducks land at No. 5 after their loss to the Stanford Cardinal, while the No. 6 Florida Gators climb one spot on the weekend. Kansas State drops to No. 7, just ahead of the No. 8 LSU Tigers.
