Kalafitoni Pole's interception in overtime helped Washington State complete an 18-point comeback to earn its first Apple Cup victory since 2008. A 27-yard field goal by Andrew Furney finished matters for Wazzu, as the Cougars bested the No. 25 Washington Huskies 31-28 in Pullman, after which fans stormed the field:

The Cougars held a surprising 10-7 halftime edge before Washington erupted for three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter to give the Huskies a 28-10 lead. But just when things looked like they might get out of hand, Washington State came storming back with their defense giving Jeff Tuel and company some much-needed stops.
Senior running back Carl Winston chipped in his second and third touchdowns to cut Washington's lead to 28-25 after the two- point conversion. After a Huskies' three-and-out, Tuel went to work, moving his team 40 yards through the air to set up a game-tying, 45-yard field goal from kicker Andrew Furney with 1:59 left to play.
The Huskies were finally able to get a first down in the quarter when a helmet-to-helmet hit on quarterback Keith Price moved the ball an extra 15 yards on Washington’s first play after the field goal. Price then found receiver DiAndre Campbell for back-to-back 11 yard strikes to set the Huskies up nicely for their game-winning field goal.
The Huskies missed a 35-yard field goal that sent the game into overtime.
Box Score Hero: Winston found paydirt three times after the team had failed to log a rushing touchdown in their previous six games.
Rankings Ramifications: Washington should fall out of the rankings.
But Did They Cover? The Huskies were 14-point favorites. So, no.
