Michigan vs. Ohio State: Big plays and babies the story of the first quarter

Hate Week is bringing out the best in both Ohio State and Michigan, as always. Also, babies.

There was never any doubt about whether Michigan or Ohio State would come out flat in their 109th meeting, but if the first quarter is any indication, this could be another classic tilt between the two storied programs.

Also, there was a baby and we got some up close and personal maternity ward shots, taking a cue from the ACC commercial in another instance of life imitating art or something. I just want to know if the baby is a Legend or a Leader. Or maybe he is just a baby.

Braxton Miller hit a big play on the Buckeyes’ first drive, resulting in a 3-yard Carlos Hyde touchdown run, and the OSU defense turned Devin Gardner over, but Michigan rallied, hitting Miller hard and bothering him in the pocket before answering with a big 75-yard strike from Gardner to Roy Roundtree.

Ohio State moved quickly down the field on the ensuing drive, but penalties stalled the Buckeye march and Ohio State settled for a field goal to make it 10-7.
