Michigan vs. Ohio State halftime score: Frank Clark hits hard, Wolverines lead

The Wolverines took advantage of some early breaks and rolls to lead the Buckeyes, 21-20, at the break.

Usually when Ohio State is playing at home, it’s all but assumed the ball will roll their way and they’ll get the kind of home cooking from officials the Harlem Globetrotters would be jealous of.

Calls like this:

But that hasn’t completely been the case in the first half against Michigan this year.

The Buckeyes have had a few bad penalties, mental errors and poor execution, including a muffed punt that led to Michigan’s first lead of the game at 14-10.

Urban Meyer kept his cool for the most part until the refs missed a blatant facemask on a punt return, and then he (and the crowd) erupted. That might have lit a fire under the Buckeyes, who looked impressive on the next drive late in the second quarter to retake the lead, 17-14.

The Wolverines answered right back as Denard Robinson took contact from two Ohio State defenders, but stayed on his feet to propel 67 yards for a touchdown. The Buckeyes ran a solid two minute drill to steal a field goal at the horn, and it’s 21-20 with Michigan leading at the break.
