Both Ohio State and Michigan have made some boneheaded and costly plays today, but for the most part the errors have canceled out.
Denard Robinson has a case of the whoopsies
A fumble by Michigan could be a big difference maker in a close game against Ohio State.
Between late hits and other penalties, missed blocks, fumbles and blown coverage, the flow of the game has been disrupted since the first possession when Braxton Miller hit on a 52-yard pass. Both teams’ quarterbacks have been taking big hits and holding onto the football is coming at a premium.
Down two points with the ball after a critical third-down conversion, part-time Michigan quarterback (a job just above Cold Stone Assistant Manager) Denard Robinson had the ball dislodged after a punishing hat-on-ball hit, flipping the field back to the Buckeyes and giving Ohio State critical momentum.
To its credit, Michigan’s defense held, thanks in large part to a bad snap on 3rd and 7 in the red zone and a shanked field goal, and the Wolverines are still just a field goal away from taking the lead.
