Utah State Aggies football coach Gary Andersen announced that he will coach the Utah State in 2013, the Herald Journal reported on Saturday. This year, Andersen's led the Aggies to a 10-2 record and a Idaho Potato Bowl bid. He is 17-8 over his last two years as a head coach of the Aggies.

The Aggies head coach ended any speculation he would depart for bigger pastures by announcing that he will coach Utah State in 2013.

Andersen’s reportedly been a candidate for both Kentucky and Cal, and Bill Connelly of SB Nation listed Anderson among this year’s hot coaching candidates, calling him an intriguing option due to his youth and his success at Utah State.
All of it is a moot point, as Andersen is definitely staying put for now, he told the Herald Journal:
“I love where I’m at and I don’t have any intentions or aspirations or reaching out to people to go (anywhere else),” Andersen said. “I love the job. That’s basically my stance on it right now and I’ve said that all along.
As long as he has success at Utah State, Andersen is bound to attract some attention from larger schools in search of new blood at the coaching spot. But he won’t be the first coach to enjoy the scenery of Logan, Utah. Men’s basketball coach Stew Morrill has guided the Aggies to the NCAA tournament in eight of his 14 years as head coach, but shows no signs of going anywhere.
“There’s a lot more things in the world than money,” Andersen said. “Some people feel that way and some people don’t. But all I can do is speak in terms of me. It’s humbling when people want to talk to you about different things...Again, if there’s opportunity there, at times you owe some things to your staff and yourself to become educated on situations, but what I love about this valley - I don’t know where to start.”
Aggies Athletics Director Scott Barnes says he took quite a few calls regarding Anderson over the weekend and was quite relieved to hear his coach is staying put.
