Kentucky coaching search: Mike MacIntyre reportedly hasn’t said no yet

San Jose State coach Mike MacIntyre has reportedly not yet turned down the Kentucky job, unlike others.

Bob Stanton-US PRESSWIRE

San Jose State head coach Mike MacIntyre is a Kentucky coaching target, according to Kyle Tucker of the Courier Journal. That he hasn’t yet turned down Kentucky would make him noteworthy among potential Cats coaches:

Matt Jones names Stoops and MacIntyre as the top candidates. However, MacIntyre says he’s yet to be contacted.

Monday, Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher denied defensive coordinator Mark Stoops had even interviewed for the Kentucky job, though Tomahawk Nation points out a strict denial of that report has to done regardless of what might have happened, for recruiting purposes.

MacIntyre led the San Jose State Spartans to a 10-2 record this past season. They were ranked No. 25 in the latest BCS Standings. Their season was capped off by a 52-43 victory over the previously ranked Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
