Louisville vs. Rutgers game preview: Odds, TV schedule and more

The unofficial Big East championship now doubles as football’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge, with two teams set to leave the conference fighting for one of its last BCS bids.

After 11 games, it all comes down to Thursday night for the Louisville Cardinals and Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

If Rutgers wins at home, it will secure a Big East Conference title and a BCS bowl berth. The Scarlet Knights own a 5-1 record and would be the league’s only one-loss team. If Louisville wins, it would get the BCS berth, even though it could mean splitting the conference title with up to three other teams.

Neither team will be in the conference in a couple years, so this could be the last time either team has a shot at a BIg East title. The Scarlet Knights have committed to joining the Big Ten and the Cardinals announced Wednesday that they will move to the ACC.

The Cardinals are coming off their only two losses of the year, including a triple-overtime heartbreaker to Connecticut last week. They march into Rutgers led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. The sophomore has thrown for 23 touchdowns this year to just six interceptions. He is expected to play despite injuring his hand in last week's loss.

The Scarlet Knights are also coming off a loss, this one to Pittsburgh a week ago. Running back Jawan Jamison has rushed for 1,004 yards this year, and wide receiver Brandon Coleman has caught eight touchdown passes to lead the team.

Game time, TV channel: Nov. 29, 7:30 p.m., ESPN
