Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State final score: Aggies silence crowd, blowout Bulldogs

The Texas A&M Aggies used a dominant running attack for an easy win over the Mississippi St. Bulldogs.

The Texas A&M Aggies went into Starkville, Miss. and put on a show as they defeated the 15th-ranked Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 38-13, in their SEC contest on Saturday.

The No. 16 Aggies dominated from start to finish, built a 24-0 lead at halftime and were never threatened by a Bulldogs team that couldn't do anything to stop the Aggies' offense, led by quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Manziel was spectacular with 311 yards passing and 129 yards rushing with two rushing touchdowns. Running back Ben Malena added 112 yards rushing and one touchdown on 17 carries and Christine Michael added two rushing touchdowns of his own. In all, the Aggies finished with 353 yards rushing and five touchdowns.

The win moves the Aggies to 7-2 overall, 4-2 in the SEC and drops the Bulldogs to 7-2, 3-2 in the SEC. The Aggies have now won 10 straight road games dating back to last season when they were still in the Big 12.

Box Score Hero: How could it not be Manziel? The Aggies’ quarterback finished with 311 yards on 30-of-36 passing plus 125 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 21 carries.

Rankings Ramifications: The Bulldogs are in danger of falling to the bottom (or out of) the rankings after losing two straight to ranked teams following an undefeated start to the season. Meanwhile, the Aggies should move up a spot or two depending on what happens around them.

Did They Cover?: The Aggies more than proved that their 7-point favorite status was merited by obliterating the cover.

Next Week's Schedules: The Aggies travel to play the No. 1 team in the country, the Alabama Crimson Tide, on Nov. 10. The Bulldogs continue their tough stretch and travel to face the fifth-ranked LSU Tigers.
