San Jose State vs. Idaho final score: Spartans bowl eligible with 42-13 win

The San Jose State Spartans became bowl eligible with a blowout win over the Idaho Vandals on Saturday. David Fales tossed for 328 yards in the win.

The San Jose State Spartans used a huge second half to become bowl eligible, beating the Idaho Vandals, 42-13, at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho, on Saturday evening.

The Spartans moved to 7-2 on the season by outscoring Idaho 28-6 in the second half. Quarterback David Fales tossed four touchdown passes on the day, including three in the second half. Fales threw for 328 yards, as four different Spartan receivers pulled in days of 60 yards or more. Noel Grigsby led that receiving corp with 88 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Idaho cut the score to 14-13 midway through the third quarter with a 33-yard field goal from Trey Farquhar, but San Jose State took over from there. The Spartans added extra insult less than a minute after Fales' final touchdown pass of the day put them up 35-13. Bene Benwikere intercepted an Idaho pass and returned it 47 yards for a touchdown.

Rankings Ramifications: San Jose State may begin to receive some votes, but this has little impact on rankings.
