Louisville football players feeling overlooked by media: ‘No respect’

If you’ve been watching ESPN’s College GameDay, or perhaps caught highlights of today’s important games, you’ve probably heard a lot about Notre Dame, Alabama, Kansas State, and Oregon, sometimes referred to as “the four unbeatens.”

The problem? There’s a fifth unbeaten team: Louisville. And Louisville players, on the heels of a 45-17 win over Temple, are beginning to notice their relative lack of attention from the national media.

Louisville center Mario Benavides was less than pleased that Notre Dame was praised by ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit for their rallying to win against Pittsburgh today (a team Louisville beat three weeks ago 45-35).

Backup quarterback Will Stein was not pleased to hear ESPN's Jesse Palmer talking about the four unbeaten teams with no mention being made of Louisville.

And Louisville tight end Nate Nord was upset to hear Notre Dame praised for getting by Pittsburgh when Louisville has previously been criticized for narrow victories of teams like South Florida and Southern Miss.
