Oklahoma kicker bends it like Beckham and not in a good way

Wide right? Wide left? Yes.

There are missed field goals. There are outright shanked field goals. And then there is what Oklahoma kicker Michael Hunnicutt did while attempting a 42-yarder with the Sooners up 24-17 late in the game against TCU.

Like a Charles Barkley drive on the first tee, this thing had a mind of its own. It started way wide right and somehow managed to cross both uprights from right to left and miss the goalposts completely.

One might say this is a bad kick, but I think it takes a certain kind of skill to miss that badly. They should offer up a chance at a 6-point field goal if you can do this effectively and drop it in with that kind of a fade (or is that a draw, okay yeah it’s a draw). While Hunnicutt might be super sad, he might just earn himself a tryout with Newcastle United one of these days.
