As part of building a new staff with the Arkansas Razorbacks, coach Bret Bielema announced that TCU Horned Frogs linebackers coach Randy Shannon would join Bielema's staff at Arkansas in a similar capacity, Bielema announced late Sunday night.

After spending four years as the head coach with the Miami Hurricanes, Shannon joined TCU for the 2012 season, where he helped the Horned Frogs to another bowl berth. Before his time at TCU, Shannon had been with the Miami program since 2001, previously serving as a defensive coordinator.

Shannon also worked on the Miami Dolphins’ coaching staff between 1998 and 2000.

“Randy Shannon is a great coach and a great person,” Bielema said in a statement released by Arkansas. “He has been a part of multiple national championship teams and, more importantly, he changed the lives of numerous young men.

Shannon has combined to win three national championships during his time as a coach and player with the Hurricanes from 1985 to 1988.
