Wisconsin running back Montee Ball was forced out of this past weekend's game against UTEP, but he may be able to play when the Badgers open their Big Ten schedule against Nebraska on Saturday. Ball was forced to leave the game after suffering a blow to the head, and he did not return. He has now suffered two head injuries in less than two months, but coach Bret Bielema didn't sound like he's all that worried about an extended absence. Bielema had the following to say on Monday:

Montee will get evaluated, has the possibility of practicing on Tuesday. We’ll see where that goes.

Bielema went on to note that the head injury didn’t appear to be severe, pointing out that Ball never lost consciousness on Saturday. Ball was attacked in early August near the Wisconsin campus and suffered a concussion that forced him too miss quite a bit of practice before the Badger’s opener.

Ball currently leads the Badgers in rushing with 360 yards on the ground. If he's unable to go on Saturday, the running load will fall to James White and Melvin Gordon. White had 15 carries for 65 yards after Ball left the game on Saturday, while Gordon rushed for 112 yards on just eight rushes.
