Kyle Field, which opened in 1927, is about to get one of the biggest renovations in its nearly 90-year history.

According to a report from the Bryan-College Station Eagle, in a meeting on Monday between officials from Texas A&M and College Station, the Aggies board unveiled plans for a massive renovation process that will take 3 years, cost somewhere between $425-$450 million and increase capacity to somewhere in the range of 93,000-103,500 seats.

Texas A&M reportedly wants the local municipalities to put in somewhere near $38 million of their money into the project.

Kyle Field, which currently has the 14th highest capacity in the nation (82,600), would move into the Top 10, and ahead of several of their new conference rivals in the SEC, after the proposed renovations.

It’s currently the third largest stadium in Texas, behind the Cotton Bowl in Dallas (92,000) and Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium in Austin (102,000).
