The early 2013 Heisman Trophy odds have been released from Danny Sheridan, a handicapper and sports analyst from USA Today (hat-tip to Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports). Here are a list of the favorites.

Quarterback Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M Aggies: The defending Heisman winner has 5:1 odds to repeat and returns as part of a national title contending Texas A&M squad. If he were to pull it off, he'd be the first Heisman Trophy winner to go back-to-back since Archie Griffin in 1974-75.

Quarterback Braxton Miller, Ohio State Buckeyes: Miller had a solid season under Urban Meyer and led OSU to an undefeated record. Ohio State figures to be legitimate national title contenders next year and Miller gets 7:1 odds to win Heisman hardware.

Running back De'Anthony Thomas, Oregon Ducks: Thomas didn't have a great season, but he figures to be a feature weapon in Oregon's attack with the departure of Kenjon Barner and the Ducks also are national title contenders. He gets 10:1 odds.

Wide receiver Marqise Lee, USC Trojans: Lee was spectacular in the home stretch and probably deserved a Heisman invite, but USC's epic tumble sunk his campaign. Lee will get another shot, and has 10:1 odds.

Quarterback Aaron Murray, Georgia Bulldogs: Murray had an impressive season, and nearly had Georgia a few yards away from a national title bid. Returning for his senior season, Murray will be a definite contender as one of the preeminent signal-callers in the SEC.

Receiving 15:1 odds were quarterback Taylor Martinez of Nebraska, quarterback Tajh Boyd of Clemson, and running back T.J. Yeldon of Alabama. Defensive lineman Jadeveon Clowney of South Carolina is listed at 20:1.
