Playing in heavy rain for upwards of three hours on Saturday night, the Washington Huskies defeated Rich Rodriguez's Arizona Wildcats with relative ease, 31-13.

The Huskies are 4-0 this season and are ranked 15th in the nation. The Pac-12 is loaded, but the UW faithful feel their team may be as well-rounded as any in the conference.

The Huskies can and will win ugly if they need to. This game was anything but pretty with the weather throwing a wrench in what the Huskies wanted to do, but they were able to lean on their defense and running game, minimize mistakes, play great special teams, and ultimately win an old school style ballgame.
Arizona fans went into the game knowing unproven senior quarterback B.J. Denker would have to play well if the 'Cats were going to pull the upset. That didn't happen; Denker threw for just 119 yards and two interceptions, frequently failing to read Washington's defense whenever they blitzed. AZ Desert Swarm weighed in on the game and felt while Denker certainly struggled, a lot of fans are unfairly criticizing him.
Denker went 14-for-35 for 119 yards and two interceptions on a rainy Saturday at Husky Stadium. He looked flustered from the onset of seeing real Pac-12 pressure for the first time in his career. But be mad at Rich Rodriguez for not giving backup Javelle Allen a bigger shot. Blame Allen and Nick Isham for failing to take Denker's job in practice.
Our Pac-12 blog, Pacific Takes, gave UW running back Bishop Sankey some love for his big night.
Sankey faced off with Ka'Deem Carey and did yeoman's work in a devastating rain storm, breaking a school record with 40 carries which he took for 161 yards and a touchdown. Sankey isn't a highlight reel runner, but he's as solid and consistent of a back as there is in the country and he put the Husky offense on his back, running up against an Arizona defense that was selling out to the run.
