Ohio State remained in the hunt for the national championship over the weekend with a 31-24 win over Wisconsin.
Ohio State vs. Wisconsin 2013 results: Buckeyes continue rolling in 31-24 win
It wasn’t a perfect performance from Ohio State, but it was enough to pick up a win against a quality Wisconsin team.

While the end result was a positive one for the Buckeyes, it was hardly a perfect showing from the nation’s No. 4-ranked team. The folks over at our Ohio State blog, Land-Grant Holy Land, took an in-depth look at the game and felt there are still a few areas for the team to address in practice as conference play picks up.
The victory unfolded in front of 105,825 fans in Ohio Stadium, the third-largest crowd in Ohio State football history, and extends Ohio State’s impressive winning streak to 17 consecutive games. Despite the big win, the narrative is likely to focus on the negatives ranging from Bradley Roby’s inability to contain Abbrederis to some of the more tepid play calling that monopolized the later portions of the game. Still, this is the sort of game that divorced from in-the-moment emotion remains a sizable win for the Buckeyes and keeps Ohio State well positioned for long term success on the season.
It’s been a tough season for the Badger faithful. After dropping another closely contested game at the hands of OSU, the guys over at Bucky’s 5th Quarter are wondering when some of these games will finally go their way.
The Wisconsin Badgers had their chances in Columbus to knock off the Ohio StateBuckeyes, but too many stupid mistakes cost them in the end. It's really as simple as that, which for all of us fans out there feels like the same old story.
We knew that Wisconsin had to play close to a flawless game against such a talented Ohio State team on the road, but that didn't happen, and thus, the Badgers didn't deserve to pull off the upset.
After seeing Saturday night's game unfold, we know one thing about this year's Wisconsin squad: it's a good team, not a great team. Gary Andersen voiced the same sentiment during his post-game with Matt Lepay after the loss.
Our Big Ten headquarters, Off Tackle Empire, praised quarterback Braxton Miller for his fine performance. Miller had missed most of the last three weeks with an injury, leading some to ask if Kenny Guiton should be the permanent starter.
And with that, Ohio State took control of the Leaders division. Braxton Miller came out focused, intent on silencing forever all those who hinted that Kenny Guiton should be the starter, and had a brilliant game: 4 TD passes, 198 yards passing, and 83 yards rushing. Miller was particularly effective out of play-action, with 3 TD passes and nine completions off of play action.
