USC interim coach Ed Orgeron is not Lane Kiffin. No one besides Lane Kiffin is Lane Kiffin, but if anybody is, it’s definitely not Ed Orgeron.
USC’s Ed Orgeron era even means pregame tradition tweaks
The boisterous former Ole Miss coach with the guttural, Cajun accent has made changes all throughout the Trojans’ program, including a noted uptick in fried chicken.
Thursday night against Arizona marks his debut as USC’s game-day head coach, and those assembled are already noting a number of new touches:
Trojans huddle up at midfield and chant ``team,'' in new pregame drill

Something new... team gathering at midfield. #USC pic.twitter.com/puW9lWieOn

Orgeron is taking this interim thing seriously. Guess 3/4 of a season requires such things. Not just a march to bowl game.

At Coliseum.. Ed Orgeron had #USC team gathered around midfield and you could hear his voice clear from the press box.

USC HC Ed Orgeron spoke with Pete Carroll this week and tried to do anything and everything the way Carroll used to. #AZvsUSC

Not sure if this is an Ed Orgeron change, but there was cake in the press box. #winning #USC

I would say Coach O looks pretty happy to be leading the Trojans tonight. pic.twitter.com/2x8Q7iq3YY

We’ll see how all that translates during the game, but I have a feeling we’ll see a fired-up USC team. Maybe not one that’s going to a bowl game, but this team has the talent on defense and at the skill positions (when healthy) to hang with anybody in the Pac-12 if its players and coaches are all on the same page.
