Southern Cal comes out slinging in first quarter, leads Arizona 14-0

The USC Trojans came into their game against Arizona missing both the head coach and star wide receiver that they began their last game with. Naturally, a lot of folks were going to be interested in seeing how the Trojans responded under interim head coach Ed Orgeron and how they would replace the production of Marqise Lee.

Through one quarter, Southern Cal appears to be doing just fine with its revised cast of characters. Cody Kessler hit Nelson Agoholor for a 62 yard touchdown strike on USC's second possession of the game and connected on with Tre Madden for a 63 yard touchdown pass five plays later.

The Trojans have been stout on the defensive side of the ball, yielding just 94 yards to Arizona’s offense. The Wildcats were able to string together an 11 play, 56 yard drive, but Jake Smith missed a 38-yard field goal.
