Ole Miss’ Robert Nkemdiche suffers apparent hamstring injury against Texas A&M

The Rebels’ star defensive end went down with what is hopefully not another serious injury to a major college football player.

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

Mississippi Rebels freshman defensive end and former No. 1 recruit Robert Nkemdiche appeared to injure his left hamstring during the second quarter of the Rebels' game against Texas A&M. Nkemdiche pulled up toward the end of what appeared to be a pretty routine play, albeit one spent chasing Johnny Manziel, before falling to the turf.

Unless the injury was incurred during a previous play, it doesn’t look like it was caused by contact, so hopefully Nkemdiche will be back on the field soon. After lying on the field for several minutes, Nkemdiche was helped off the field and examined on the trainers’ table.
