A busy week of upsets in college football has led to a wildly different AP Poll in Week 8 -- while the teams in the Top 25 remain largely the same, the order has significantly shifted, with the SEC becoming the first team to ever have eight teams ranked at once in the regular season. And this week’s Florida State-Clemson game just got a little bit bigger.

Seven ranked teams lost Saturday, but how many fell out of the Top 25? Florida State and LSU surge toward the top, and here comes Missouri.

Alabama holds on to the top spot with Oregon right behind (and gaining no new first-place votes), but Stanford falls out of the top five after their loss to Utah. Georgia also drops out of the top 10 after their convincing loss to Missouri, who, not coincidentally, rise significantly, as it appears the voters are taking the Tigers’ undefeated start more seriously now.
Oklahoma also drops after a loss to Texas, while Michigan exits after a quadruple overtime loss to unranked Penn State. After close losses to title contenders, Washington and Florida don’t move much, while Northwestern takes a hit after a bad loss to Wisconsin, who rejoin after the 35-6 drubbing in Madison. Also joining us is Auburn.
The AP Poll is voted on by members of the media, but does not count in the final BCS rankings.
