College football news: James Franklin out 3-5 weeks; Oregon, Nebraska set up future series

James Franklin only out 3-5 weeks, per Gary Pinkel
Just a few hours after Mizzou wrapped up a huge road win over Georgia, reports said quarterback James Franklin was out for the year with a separated shoulder. Franklin appeared to land awkwardly on his throwing shoulder during the fourth quarter and immediately left the game.
Gary Pinkel addressed the injury and said his senior QB will only miss 3-5 weeks. It's just about guaranteed he doesn't play against Florida, South Carolina or Tennessee -- all of which will be played at home -- though he could return for Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Look for Maty Mauk, a former four-star recruit, to start in his place.
Robert Nkemdiche out against LSU
Nkemdiche, last year's No. 1 high school prospect, will not play against LSU due to a hamstring injury. The athletic defensive end appeared to hurt himself chasing Johnny Manziel out of the pocket. The Rebels will really miss him, and with quite a few other defensive starters banged up, Saturday could get ugly for Hugh Freeze's young team.
Oregon, Nebraska set up 2016-2017 series
It’s a bit down the road, but the Ducks and Cornhuskers will meet up during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. The first game will be held in Lincoln, with the second coming in Eugene the following year. It’s always nice for the fans when two powerhouse programs set up a home-and-home series, and these games have the potential to be great in a couple years.
Oklahoma suffers another blow, loses starting DT
If the loss to Texas wasn't bad enough, Bob Stoops announced on Monday that starting defensive tackle Jordan Phillips is out for the year and will undergo back surgery. Phillips was a key cog along OU's defensive line and does a terrific job taking up space, recording seven tackles this season, including two for losses.
