UNC calling its black uniforms for Miami game ‘Zero Dark Thursday’

It’s blackout time in Chapel Hill.

North Carolina hosts Miami on Thursday night in what will be a crucial game for both teams, though not for the same reasons. The Hurricanes are trying to stay unbeaten, and the Tar Heels are trying salvage their season after a 1-4 start.

UNC introduced a bunch of different new uniform combinations before the season, and Thursday’s game is officially a “blackout” game. The Tar Heels are referring to it at “Zero Dark Thursday,” and they have the outfit for the occasion.

That’s not a bad getup — it beats some of the more mismatched looks that the Tar Heels have used this season, which includes those black pants being used in tandem with any jersey other than the black one shown above.
